The name Brillante is from the Spanish (and Italian), meaning "bright, shiny" or "brilliant" - perfect for our products! - and reflects a love of the Spanish language as well as our large selection of Mexican jewellery.
At Brillante each piece we sell has its own story, from its origins, culture and the inspiration it generates. We have sourced our pieces from all over the world - the four corners area in the US (mainly Gallup and Zuni Pueblo in New Mexico), Taxco in Mexico, Lapland in Northern Sweden and Sydney.
We personally select each and every piece, which is handcrafted by local artists from high quality materials and in many cases (e.g. our vintage items) one-of-a-kind. From time to time we also pick up pieces from other places but each must conform to our aesthetic of being 100% handmade, fair trade, excellent quality and remarkable or unique.
We hope our pieces to speak to you as loudly as they speak to us!
Who are we?"Brillante is my dream - as a marine biologist I have constantly had to think scientifically, logically and analytically in my work, and I had been longing to explore my creative side. I therefore decided to combine my lifelong love of jewellery with my passion for history, travel and other cultures to create Brillante."
