This is a big year for Brillante, with the launch of our new online shop and Liz spending some time in Mexico on business and improving her Spanish.
So far, so good! Liz is all settled in Oaxaca, Oaxaca (in the south of Mexico, about 6 hours from Mexico City) and studying hard. She reports that it is a beautiful city and a great place to learn Spanish - she is taking the opportunity to hang out with the locals and speak as much Spanish as she can... and after two months of language school is hopeful she will have the basis for better conversation, which she will continue to practise after school has finished!
Liz has now finished Spanish school and is travelling through central America practising Spanish with the locals while enjoying the cool jungles of southern Mexico and northern Guatemala and indulging her love of handmade textiles... She has just started a blog to document her travels, which can be viewed here. She'd love to hear your comments, so please comment on the blog or send her an email!
After travelling through Guatemala, Honduras and Belize for the past several months, Liz is now back in Mexico and just spent her first Dia de Muertos (Day of the Dead) in Patzcuaro, Tzintzuntzan and Morelia (Michoacan). She reports that it was a truly amazing experience and even managed to make a short video to share the experience with others:
She has just arrived in Taxco, and is very excited to see some beautiful new silver pieces by our talented artists, Alon and Guillermo, as well as discover new artists.
